So what are the benefits or side effects of each?  Well fish oil has something in it called omega-3 which is very beneficial for your health. Some of these benefits include a decreased risk of arthritis, decrease in "elderly diseases" such as altimers disease and other sicknesses that usually affect the elderly. Omega- 3 also has a quality in it were it is able to thin the blood, thus reducing blood pressure, allowing the blood to flow more freely in your body, which has many perks, such as increased oxygen levels, thus having more energy. Another of the amazing affects of fish oil is that it can lessen the effects of depression. Thus helping you live a better and happier life. Flaxseed oil also has the amazing nutrient called omega-3. So it has most of the benefits that you would expect in fish oil. Some of the possible benefits of flaxseed oil is that it can help decrease your risk of cancer. The main cancer that it was shown to reduce was breast cancer. People with a greater intake of flaxseed oil were shown to have less of a chance of having breast cancer.


Flaxseed oil also helps ease the burden of losing weight. Along with diet and exercise, flaxseed oil is shown to help lose weight easier and more effectively than ever. Flaxseed oil also has beneficial affects in cardiovascular health and well being, promoting healthier lung functioning, allowing you to breathe more affectively and easily. So both of these supplements stack up pretty well against each other, so what you may ask is the defining factor in the battle of flaxseed oil vs fish oil for your body? Well it has to do with side effects and what you may be consuming along with omega-3

So what is this defining factor you may ask? Well I will give you a hint, it starts with an M and is an element on the periodic table. The defining factor is...Mercury. That's right is mercury however is this a positive or a negative.  Unfortunately for fish oil, fish are exposed to many types of toxins and have been known to have unhealthy amounts of mercury found in their blood, but what does this all mean? This means that flaxseed oil is the clear cut winner. It has all the benefits of fish oil, with large amounts of omega- 3, however it lacks the negative aspects such as it being full of toxin and having high levels of mercury, which can have a detrimental affect on your health.
